Everything you need to know before booking private car hire: what quotes include (fuel, state taxes, tolls, parking), choosing Swift Dzire vs Innova Crysta vs Urbania, and highway safety.
Why Hire a Private Car with Chauffeur?
Self-driving in India is generally unadvisable for foreign visitors and first-time travelers due to complex traffic patterns, livestock, and unannounced road diversions. A professional local driver not only ensures highway safety but also acts as an on-road concierge who knows clean highway rest-stops, reputable dining hubs, and safe arrival points.
What Should a Transparent Price Quote Include?
At TripSthan, our policy is complete upfront transparency. A legitimate all-inclusive quote should clearly specify:
1. Vehicle hire & experienced chauffeur allowance.
2. All highway toll taxes (FASTag automated deductions).
3. Interstate border road taxes (State Passenger Taxes between Delhi, UP, Rajasthan, and Haryana).
4. Fuel (diesel/petrol) and all parking fees.
Beware of low 'base fare' quotes that later bill you separately for night charges, driver meals, or state border permits at highway toll booths.
Choosing the Right Vehicle for Your Group
Swift Dzire (Sedan): Best for solo travelers or couples with 2 standard suitcases. Fuel-efficient and nimble in tight historic city lanes.
Toyota Innova Crysta (Premium MUV): The gold standard for India road travel. Supreme suspension, generous legroom, dual AC blowers, and capacity for 4-5 adults with 4 large suitcases.
Force Urbania / Tempo Traveller (9-16 Seater): Ideal for extended family groups and corporate retreats. High roof standing cabin, reclining captain seats, individual AC vents, and massive luggage hold.
